Ok, my precious Bobo wants me to update, so here I go.
I have nothing much to say, other than I am glad she will be home soon! I know she will be sad to leave Europe & Dave, but it will be nice to be able to chase her around the house and whack her butt and whatnot again. Work was slow today. The DSL is busted (yay rain!) and the phone lines sound like crap so I had to get AT&T to fix it. That requires going through an automated system, then finally getting a human, getting a "trouble ticket number" and then waiting. Apparently by tomorrow around 11 am they should be fixed. Don't trouble yourselves guys.
Thanksgiving is at the in-laws this year. Both sets of grandparents are coming, plus Scott, Eric, and Craig & I (obviously). I am making three pies (apple, pumpkin & pecan, crusts and all thanks), homemade cranberry chutney and parmesan garlic mashed potatoes.
According to my MIL people are "killing each other" to get at the frozen turkeys at Fry's, so I think I will hold off on turkey shopping until later when the crowds have thinned out.
I'm not even going to be eating any turkey, it's not like I care :P
Ok, gotta go.
Bobo, Ferris Bueller was on the other night. It's not the same without you :) *KISSY*

DISCLAIMER: The following will most likely make some very angry. It is not my intention to offend anyone, but this is my blog and I write what I please. If you are easily offended, pro-Bush, ultra-conservative (or any combination thereof) I'm warningn you now, you probably don't want to read this. This entry is basically just for me; when people look at me in disgust wondering how I can support Kerry and they call me "unpatriotic" and a "traitor" (yes, I really have had those things yelled at me) this is what I want to tell them:
Over 1,000 U.S. troops dead.
Over 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead.
Nearly 100 billion dollars, that could have been spent on healthcare for children, the elderly and low-income families, education, medical research or low-income housing instead spent on searching for non-existant Weapons of Mass Destruction. Does it make the lie easier to swallow when they tell you "the weapons were there, but they were moved before we found them."?
No Child Left Behind sounds great in principal. Too bad they didn't fully fund it, leaving schools holding the bag when their students aren't up on the standardized tests. Lots of showy talk, not much action.
The Patriot Act. That is a good name for it, huh? "Do what we tell you or else you are unpatriotic". Scare tactics, anyone? Do you know that the Patriot Act, among other things, means the government knows what books your children check out of the library?
Flip flopping? Did you know that Bush was initially opposed to forming the Department of Homeland Security before he was in favour of it? Did you know that he was opposed to NCLB before he decided to support it? Do you remember when he wouldn't testify before the senate hearings, then he would, then he would only do it if Cheney could be there with him? Sounds an awful lot like the pot calling the kettle black.
Newsflash: Those tax cuts? To enjoy the standards of life that we North Americans have come to expect, taxes are a necessary evil. It would be nice though if they were spent responsibly on medical programs and education for instance instead of waging illegal wars on countries we have decided we don't like (Vietnam, anyone?).
Declaring war on countries we don't like. There are other countries in the world ruled by dictators worse than Saddam Hussein, but they aren't oil-rich nations, so we let them be. It's very convenient that Iraq just happens to have alot of oil under their sand.
I support the troops, I want them home. They have done an honorable thing by enlisting to defend their country. THEIR country. Why are they dying in Iraq when Iraq did nothing to us? Everyone and their dog has concluded there were no connections between Iraq and 9/11, so don't bother trying to feed me that garbage.
I am pro-choice, not pro-abortion. Pro-abortion means that I would be actively advocating abortions left, right and center. I don't. But the right should be there for women to choose. Abortions are going to happen whether they are legal or not (that has already been proven), but I would prefer they are kept safe instead of ending in botched jobs with wire coat-hangars.
Don't tell me I am unpatriotic because I don't support Bush. A democracy without dissent is not truly a democracy (that is a quote but I forget by whom). I don't have to like Bush to love America.

You know what pisses me off? Americans flocking to Canada to get the flu shot now that they have learned there won't be enough for them in the States. The local health unit is turning them away, as they rightly should, to make sure that Ontarians who have contributed to the provincial healthcare system get them first. After all the rude comments I have received about how Canada has a (GASP!) socialist healthcare system that can't possibly be any good, and prescription drugs from Canada can't POSSIBLY be safe, NOW they decide that they want our help and our medicine? Did you know most of our flu vaccinations came from France? I thought you guys didn't like France 'cause they refused to be part of the 'coalition of the willing'. Still want that vaccine now?
If, after vaccinating every Canadian who wants a flu shot, we have some leftover THEN, I am in favor of offering them to Americans (or any other foreign national willing to make the trip) who desires one.

These are the types of foreign relations the current administration is fostering. Don't like it?

CJ, Fenner, and CJ's parents came down to have Thanksgiving (Monday) with us. I can't believe we have been best friends for 11 years! We have celebrated a bunch of holidays together and they just keep getting better. While setting the table I chipped a wine glass (oops!), then just after her dad toasted everyone at dinner saying how lucky we are to have each other, CJ knocked over her wine glass and "decapitated" it (the top smashed off the bottom, HAR HAR!). I laughed until I almost peed my pants.
I got my hair cut & coloured this afternoon. I like it, even though it isn't a huge change from the way it was before....just a touch-up this time. Darker brown, less red, and she re-did my layers. Yay!
Tomorrow is ice-skating! I haven't been skating in years, this will be FUN!
Also I have had Tim Horton's every day since I have been here. I am so proud of myself, hah! :)

I just realized that I need to be all packed in 24 hours. Like that is going to happen. I need to pack for Craig too and all our "cold" weather clothes are stuffy and musty and need to be washed. I know what's going to happen...I'm just going to end up shoving everything in my spiffy duffel-bag-on-wheels and take it home as is. This is ridiculous; 26 years old and I'm still dragging my laundry (3,000 miles) to my parents' house.

We did cake and prezzies at my in-laws tonight since my FIL won't be around tomorrow and also Craig and I have plans (Indian food for lunch and then see Shark Tale!). I wanted to post pics of my 'loot' so far. I am a very "spoiled" girl. Since I moved down here away from my family though, I have learned what is actually important. Them. When I tell them I don't need anything for my birthday except to share it with them, I'm not just trying to be modest, I mean it. Gifts are fun and I very much appreciate it when people spend the time, effort and money to give me something I will enjoy, but nothing makes me happier than being with my family and I am SO glad that I get to see them in a few days as a "late" birthday present. I'm just bummed Bobo won't be there but I am glad she is having fun in Europe :)
Now on to the pictures...
These are the jammies that Kass got me.
This is my spa foot bath! From my MIL & FIL.
And this is my Belgian waffle maker that I got from my BILs, Scott & Eric (they also got my stainless steel KitchenAid meauring cups and spoons!).
I also got a check for $50 from Grandma Jo and Grampa Jerry.
I think I am going to go scrapbook pictures from last Thanksgiving (um, yah, hehehe, oops!) and wait for the SNL premiere!. While I do that I can listen to the lovely Mariachi music that the neighbors across the street are blaring, hah :)

I had a Yuma for Kerry Meetup tonight. It was fun. Met a couple new faces and got to be back with some of my old "regulars". Had a good time. We had a guy come all the way from Mexico (he is an American but lives and works in Mexicali). Then Ed realized he had a key to the Democratic Headquarters so we went and raided their Kerry/Edwards gear. They had just got a big new shipment so I'm all stocked up. I even snagged a button for my dad :)
On my drive home the other night I was listening to Filter's Take a Picture and I thought, I need someone to take a picture of my life as it's happening right now 'cause down the road a few years I know everything won't be as fresh and vivid as it is right now. Then I supposed that this blog as well as my scrapbook are my life "picture".
Craig is at the Yuma Slashdot Meetup tonight. He actually ended up being the Meetup co-ordinator! (For anyone who knows Craig, that is really funny - he never wants to organize anything. Apparently he has no idea how he became the host, heh).
Off to watch the premiere of ER! :)

How you could not hear 42 drunken highschool students partying in your house is beyond me. I would have come up with a better excuse.

Did you know that I am the co-ordinator for both the Yuma Kerry in 2004 Meetup as well as the DFA Meetup? Because I am. Awhile back Meetup sent out requests for volunteers to host and co-ordinate the local meetups. There was one other guy besides me that signed up to manage each of them. Supposedly we were to duke it out amongst ourselves who got the coveted spot (ha ha) but I got lazy and didn't contact him and about a week later Meetup notified me that I had won the prize(s). The first one isn't for a few weeks so I still have some time to get organized.
We are getting a really cool lightening/wind/dust storm here tonight. I took Po out for a walk and enjoyed the wind. It actually wasn't unbearably hot. Thought it was 105 degrees and very humid today. UGH!

Oh yeah. I also stole her courderoy overalls from Old Navy and a cardigan. Come to think of it, everything I stole from her is from ON. Probably 'cause that's almost the only place we'll shop! :)
On a much more somber note, I turn 26 (you don't know how hard it was for me to just type those two digits together) in twenty-nine days. I wish I could hit the rewind button on my life. The first few years I don't remember and the last few have been a blur. I sure hope you aren't supposed to accomplish anything notable by the time you hit this age because I sure haven't.
Po is napping and making these I'm-about-to-breath-flames noises so I'm going to check on him.

Things my sister stole from me and then took to Europe:
My impossible-to-find-a-new-one foot file
My brand-new pink hoodie (Teresa bought me a new one, hehehe!)
Something else that I can't remember
Things I stole from her and brought back to Yuma:
1 t-shirt and 2 dressy shirts
Something else that I can't remember
I'd say we're pretty much even.
I told Steve I'd help him organize the Amy Goodman thing. I kind of miss his micro-managing ways :) I'm sure I'll be ready to kill him again after a month of working together ;) I have also had a request from some former Yuma Deaniacs for my dad to come down here and do stuff with us closer to election time. (Hehe, how many Canadians does it take to elect an American president?).

Craig wanted me to blog about his latest blog...so here I am :)
What can I say, the Liberals have it :) If you read Craig's independent/interdependent entry you will see why he came to the conclusion that I'm a Democrat (or would be if I could register to vote) and he thinks more like a Republican, although he is registered as a Dem and will be supporting Kerry-Edwards. Why? Because no decent person in their right mind who hasn't been living under a rock for the last 4 years could support someone whose only interest is in seeing the rich get richer, sending their soldiers off to die for an oil war (you didn't really think it was about "liberating" Iraq, did you?), fighting a woman's right to choose, polluting the environment and making it difficult for the people who need it most to have universal health care. Those are but a small mix of the ISSUES! Bleh. Anyway (I feel like Veruca Salt right after her tirade about the golden geese) *clears throat* back to Craig's blog. It was very interesting, I had never thought about it that way before.
Annnnnd..I need to go to bed and get my rest because Ryan is coming tomorrow!

I think I am usually a fairly patient, tolerant person. Tonight however, my line was crossed. Rob, Dan and I went extreme bowling. We were there for about an hour before a large group of people (with several small children) came along and started playing in the lane next to us. They put so many balls into the holder that they encroached into our little group of balls. I had selected my ball (I am picky about my ball) and had been using it faithfully for the past hour. Then one of the girls in the lane next to us decided to try my ball. They have like 8 balls right there but she decided to take mine. I figured, 'Well that's OK. As long as she and I aren't bowling at the same time it won't be a problem'. Then she proceeds to let her two little kids (I'm talking under 5 years old, in a bowling alley at 11 pm) shove the ball down the lane. It rolls into the gutter and gets stuck along with 2 other balls already in there. Fabulous. We had to wait for the worker guy to come get them out of the gutter. She didn't even apologize! So when my ball popped up out of the conveyer belt thing I took it and sat with it on my lap for the rest of the night. Then they resorted to taking Rob's ball! The nerve! And who brings little kids to a smokey, noisy bowling alley at 11 pm? GET A BABYSITTER. If you can afford to go bowling and buy as much beer as those people had then you can afford a babysitter for a few hours. It was good for alot of laughs though :)
Then Dan and I went to the Pop a Top to drown our sorrows and Dan bought me a drink (thanks Dan!). Our bad luck, it was karaoke night. 'Nuff said.
I am officially dubbing this the Bowling Ball Thievery Incident.

So my MIL broke her middle finger walking the dog. Yes, walking the dog. He is an Australian Cattle dog (=ENERGY) and he's still a puppy (=MORE ENERGY) and he took off running and somehow the leash got wrapped around her finger and snapped it in two and twisted it, so when she went to the urgent care they couldn't just set it, and they are sending her to a surgeon. She goes to that tomorrow morning. Until then her finger is stuck in the Middle Finger Salute. Though I feel bad that she hurt her finger and is in pain, the fact that it's stuck in the position it is in is hilarious to me ;) Even more so if you knew my MIL ;) Her attitude is sort of always 'screw off'. So this is twistedly appropriate.
I wish my sister was here, she and I have the same sense of humour ;)

ARRGHHHHH!@# Their first concert in K-town in a decade and I miss it by a month!!! *screaming and tearing hair out*
!@#%*#@!!

I guess it serves me right. I miss all the good stuff when I'm down here in this hell hole (though I do have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to see Randy Travis and Julio Iglesias at the Paradise Casino. *throws up*). I am going home.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is on! Where is my Bobo to watch OUR movie with me? In Europe, that's where :P
I'm not going to stay up 'til the end (it just started) but I'm at least going to finish the part with Edward R. Rooney and Grace ("GRAAACE!!!!"). Hehehe.

My sister brought me a Shrek doll from work today (the General Mills rep was cleaning out her space and gave it to her along with some other items). He's brand new and about 12" tall. He's so cute, I love him! Now I just need "DONKEY!" :D
I got my hair chopped today. Well, not too chopped, Lisa only took about 2 inches off the bottom but she gave me "choppy, aggressive" layers around my face and I got a brunette rinse with caramel highlights. I LOVE it! Lisa always knows what to do with my hair, she's so great. That was my splurge for the...decade. Hehe, no it wasn't that bad, I won't say how much it cost but it's enough that I only do it 2 or 3 times a year, heh. I can only do it when I'm in K-town anyway! If I were rich (not famous, just rich) then I'd keep Lisa on my staff full-time so I would never have a bad hair day again ;)
I had my lava lamp on today and Mango did not like it; she growled at it for about 45 minutes straight! What a nut.
I can't believe I have to go back to Yuma in 6 days. It feels like I just got here. I am already getting sad about leaving. It will be good to see Craigory and Popo and my friends but I still hate leaving here. I feel like I belong here. I don't feel that way in Yuma. I am distracting myself with volunteering stuff for Kerry and after 11/2 hopefully I can concentrate on getting the house ready to sell. I look forward to the days when I leave Kingston only for a vacation.

It's another beautiful day...sunny and breezy, warm but not hot, white puffy clouds floating by. Paradise :) I went downtown with my mum today....we went to the market (outdoor farmer's market) and some shops that I hadn't been to in awhile. They just put in a Starbucks downtown, but I like to encourage the "little guy" i.e. the local family owned businesses so I didn't get anything from Starbucks. My mom however has found her new addiction ;)
Bobo is at work now but will home in a few hours and then I can go back to annoying her as much as possible before I leave, heh ;)
I'm not sure what is for dinner. So many restaurants that I need to go to! (Again, locally-owned places...I can go to a chain restaurant anytime).
I'm going to enjoy the breeze and the 78 degree weather. I love home! I hate Yuma! :)

We went to San Diego for the day to see F9/11 and test-drive a Porsche Boxter. Hee hee :)
The movie was SOOO GOOOD! You MUST go see it. Unless you're a head-up-the-ass Republican who thinks Bush and his cronies are wonderful, in that case you're probably too scared to see it 'cause it might actually give you something to think about. Of course you will brand it "biased, anti-American garbage" but that's okay...the rest of us know the truth. You just hide behind whatever makes you feel better. Heh.

I got to meet this guy tonight. I liked him alot more than I thought I would. Go check out his website and then do the right thing and vote for him on November 2. And if you're one of those people who thinks McCain is a moderate and you can live with him for another senate term think again. He's as bad as Kyl. Just look at his voting record. He's no moderate.

At first I just chalked it up to me having bad luck with coffee, but then when my parents were down here and my mom brought some coffee from home I realized how truely awful American coffee is. It's weak and watery and has no oomph. I guess Canadian coffee is more similar to European coffee. The stuff down here is just plain weak...same problem they have with their beer, heh ;)

In the span of 30 minutes Gracie has managed to:
knock over a lamp with her bouncy ball,
spill her cup of water that she was using with her paints,
try on my high heel shoes and subsequently fall off my high heel shoes,
ride Po around like a horse and then get stuck underneath him when he rolled over onto his back,
and knock all my fridge magnets/pictures on the floor while practicing her jump-and-touch skills on my fridge. My house is a trail of destruction. That was a half hour. I shudder to think what might happen in the next four hours before she goes home.

As I sat organizing my scrapbooking supplies I was listening to iTunes Radio. After some old songs (by 'old' I mean mid 70's) Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit came on. I thought to myself, 'Ahhh, the anthem of my generation'. Then I got a cold feeling in the pit of stomach realizing that that is a 12 year-old song and that if I am old enough to be thinking about the songs of my generation then I am in fact now just plain old. Great. Lovely. People my parents age seem to think it's hysterical that I am lamenting being "old". I can sort of see their point, after all I'm sure I seem young and naive to them, however from my vantage point it's not quite so humourous.
Switching topics, I picked up a prescription at the pharmacy today and it cost me $63.73 after insurance. Before insurance it was $143.73. This is a once-a-month thing. We are just lucky Craig has good insurance. Otherwise that would add up to over $1700 a year. Just for one prescription. I told Gracie we need to move back to Canada. This country is ill-equipped to deal with its inhabitants. Greatest country on Earth my ass. It can't provide something as basic as healthcare for its citizens yet it unilaterally decides to invade and blow up other countries so the president can play at cowboys and indians. The brave men and women who enlisted in the armed services to defend this country are now being re-deployed after short breaks and are coming home daily in body bags.
While I am here I am doing what I can to make people WAKE UP and see what's going on, and then after that I am going home to civilization.

Gracie and I made cookies yesterday. She actually did alot of the work! She cracked the eggs w/o getting any shells in the batter! Then she also ate like 5 huge spoonfuls of the raw batter *shudders*
Of course I used to do that when I was a kid too...back when I thought samonella was some kind of fish dinner.
Here are some pics I took of her baking yesterday. She is playing with the egg before she cracked them.

Heh heh.
You are Jackie! You are the epitome of shallowness. You have no real
plans in life except to get married and pass on your good looks alone. You
expect extreme loyalty from the ones you love, but you are always willing
to give second, and third, chances. Many people find you annoying, but you
DO have good fashion sense!
Which That 70's Show Character are you?

Yesterday after I went to the dentist for a check-up my gums were sore, so I stopped at Walgreens on my way to work and got some Anbesol gel. I got to the office and broke out the Anbesol. I think you're supposed to apply it by putting a tiny dot on your finger and then rubbing it on your gums. Well, never having used it before and wanting to get rid of the soreness, I applied it toothpaste-style directly to my gums. Of course I got way too much on (though I was figuring, how powerful can stuff be that doesn't need a prescription?) and in less than 30 seconds my lips, gums and tongue were NUMB. I was drooling everywhere and sounded like an idiot when I spoke. Luckily it subsided within a half hour, though it still kept my gums from hurting. Next time I use Anbesol I will do it sparingly!

Lately alot of people have been asking me if I'm going to apply for U.S. citizenship when my permanent residency paperowrk is done. They seem genuinely shocked when I tell them no. I mean no offence to my American friends and family, most Americans I have met have been very pleasant people, however I feel no need to hold dual citizenship. Not only am I proud to be Canadian but I love being a Canadian. I don't need U.S. citizenship to feel like my life is complete. There is nothing the U.S. can offer me that I can't get the same, or better, in Canada. Not to mention I like people's attitudes and outlooks much better back home.
When I am travelling or in an airport and I see someone with a U.S. passport I can't help but feel very proud and somewhat smug that in my hot little hand I have something even better; a Canadian passport. It's like the feeling you get when you come in first place in a competition; very proud, somewhat smug and a little sorry for the second place finisher.
I am a citizen of the greatest country on Earth; that's all I want and need.
Hope that clears up some of the confusion :)

My poor Kimmykat! Julie is evil and will be paid a visit from dogdoo.com
I hope you get further with Paul, but I'm not sure he'll be much help either. Just tell him you prayed to the Lord for a sign, and God told you to go talk to Paul and he'd make it all better. He might go for that ;)
I want to come up for a visit around the end of this month. The prices to fly right into Kingston are around $500 US though so if they don't improve soon you might have to come pick me up in Toronto! No worries, we can go to New Tribe!
I went to Sam's Club tonight and felt like company so I called Teresa and she went with me. I got a huge bag a Ghirardelli chocolate chips, among other fascinating things. It was no match for shopping with my Bobo though :) I love her the mostest.
I'm going to get in bed now. It is hot here. I hate Yuma and want to kill it violently.

Long weekend! That was nice. Craig and I went to see Shrek 2 this morning, it was very good. I don't have much patience for movies, and sequels are usually pretty bad, but I really liked this. If Gracie hasn't seen it yet I think I'll take her tomorrow afternoon.
This afternoon I got to talk to my parents, my Nana and Bobo. Then we went over to Dan & Starla's. We BBQ'd and Po played with Taz and Spuds and surprisingly nothing got broken. Po knocked over Dan's beer but it didn't even get onto the floor.
Hurray, Bobo blogged again! Now you just need to keep it up regularly, KittyKat! And post piccies! When I am up in the summer (wait, it is summer) I will see if I can get you set up with photobucket or something so you can do it quickly.
I want to go on a cruuuuise.

My MK director sent our unit an e-mail cancelling our usual conference call, and in it she meant to write 'sorry for the inconvenience' but instead she wrote 'sorry for the incontinence'. HAHAHA!! It was sooo funny. I had to read it about 4 times to make sure I had it right...or that she had it wrong. Whichever. I guess she had something else on her mind ;)

Bush...he puts the 'Duh' in Dubya.
Hi Kitty Kat!
Don't worry, I still have a burning desire to rid the world of all Republicans...or at least the stupid ones, heh (what's the difference?) ;).
But I am in Buttcatt withdrawl and will be coming home soon. I guess first I should figure out where you are going to settle so I can be close to you. Scotland is out, you hear?? Too far away.
Enjoy the dobbies! That is cheap!
Oh and btw, The Drill was required, you were just sleeping too deeply to notice.
Hehehe, kidding!!! ;)

I don't like Yuma. I don't like coming back here. I don't want to live here anymore. Whenever I go to Kingston I always think, 'Ahhh, home...where I belong'. Which is sort of funny because I haven't lived there in almost 4 years. Yuma is where my home, dog, friends, job(s), husband, etc. are and yet it doesn't feel like home. It won't be easy to leave, I have been trying to build a life here for 4 years, but I need to go back home. That's the only place that feels like home. I feel like I belong there. Like I can be myself. I have never felt like that in Yuma. It still feels so foreign to me. I feel so constricted and unhappy here. I think we have decided that when Gracie starts school full-time, most likely September 2005, we'll move to K-town. I'll miss my friends and my job(s) here...but I miss my family more. This town is way too conservative and uptight...people down here take themselves too seriously. I'm not in a huge rush, but I am looking forward to leaving. I'm happy there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Wow. Go away for 10 days and Blogger changes everything. I like this much better though. I am home and missing my Pooky Woo!! Sharing a bunk with her for a week was much too much fun ;)
Bobo, if you read this call me! I am in Buttcat withdrawl!! If you lost my # just e-mail me or post a reply in your blog and I'll call you.
KISSES!

Alright Ratbutt, you get your wish; we're not going to buy a new house down here, we decided we'd rather move back to Kingston in the next couple years. So if you end up moving to Fresno or Scotland or what-have-you there will be serious consequences.
Switching topics completely, Craig has long since stolen my highschool cheerleading squad ball cap (which I prize almost more than life itself), and I never had one to wear anymore (though he gets great looks when he wears it, ha ha) so I found a nice maroon and gold ASU one for $1.00. Yes, you read right, $1.00. I'm not telling you my secret, other than it's brand new. Now I can wear my ASU hat and my University of Toronto t-shirt. I also have U of T pants but that might be overkill.
"Oh, very nice though a little small for you darlin', don't you think?"

My computer has been flipping out and not letting me get anywhere. Ugh.
My dad and I stopped by the Dem HQ today and got some buttons. Fritzi was there. So was Frank :P
"We have nothing to fear but Frank himself". It's a good thing Frank thinks people are listening to him, cause if he knew the truth he might get even louder ;) Figuratively speaking.
The Friends finale is tonight. I don't mind the show. I was never a regular watcher though. This whole End of Friends drama is getting really stale though. Move on, people.
I am waiting for my lemon meringue pie, minus the meringue, to chill. Frothy egg = yuk.
Ok, time to buzz.

Craig says I know alot of jingles. I didn't even think about it until he mentioned it and I realized that I do indeed have an affinity for jingles. I don't try to remember them on purpose. That's just the whole point of a jingle; to get stuck in your brain whether you like it or not. So, in keeping with my jingle-singing self, I decided to blog this entry jingle style.
You have to play along though and imagine that I am singing this in a peppy, happy voice.
Begin blog:
Ya know what I'm gonna do?
Move out to Barkley Raaaanch!

Burt Bacharach saw Mamma Mia! the other night and liked Chilina so much he gave her his phone number, and long story short, she is going to record a song on his next album!! That is in the next 2 months. Then she has a voice-over for Delta airlines! And she met all these celebrities at their opening night party last week. I guess that's L.A. for ya :)
I'm so proud she's my best friend! (With the exception of Bobo of course, but that's different; we're sisters...better than best friends!) :)

My mommy and daddy got here today! They would have been here last night except they blew a tire in Phoenix and by the time it was fixed it was midnight, so they just stayed there. They brought me stuff from home including chocolate, lemon pie filling, cheese and maple syrup!! All stuff I can't get down here...well, I can get them all down here, but they are different brands and nowhere near as good as from home. Especially the cheese and maple syrup. Vermont puts forth a vailant effort, but their syrup just isn't the same...you can't get it the same when you are cranking out thousands of bottles a day. It has to be done the old fashioned way. But I have a large supply now so I am good :)
They also brought me a bunch of my Christmas prezzies that were too big to fly with and would cost too much to ship. And my Dad brought me a ReDefeat Bush in 2004! bumper sticker! I now have 3 anti-Bush stickers! Now I just need to get some pro-choice ones and then I can really piss off the conservatives in this hicktown.
Tonight...maple syrup
Tomorrow...the Gracerator

I am all in favor of the No CARB diet. You know:
No...
Cheney
Ashcroft
Rumsfeld
Bush
Heh heh.
However, this is taking it too far. This is embarassing. Twelve servings of roast beef? You might as well be eating carbs! Jeez, you're supposed to eat HEALTHY. Healthy does not = 12 servings of meat all in one sitting. These people who run around eating a hamburger without the bun and only eat macrobiotic, not-cooked-over-110-degrees or whatever the hell it is crack me up. You must not have much else to do if that is what your life has been reduced to. Moderation, people! And then that couple got all bent out of shape because the restaurant didn't want them inhaling the entire buffet?!
The nerve!
*snicker* I'm going to go laugh for awhile now.
But before I do, Robin got back today and brought me the cutest t-shirt! It is black and in white lettering is reads, Everyone Loves a Canadian Girl. The 'Canadian' is red and glittery and there are little red hearts on it. Too cute! Too true! :)

I talked to my cousin Heather last night. She is so cute and all excited about her wedding (23 days!). She was at the reception hall picking out linens for the tables. She requested pink tableclothes with pink napkins. Her theme is pink, in case you hadn't guessed (anyone remember Julia Roberts' character's wedding in Steel Magnolias?)
I guess the reception hall manager was trying to steer her towards burgundy tableclothes with cream napkins (YUK!). Heather was like, 'Why would I want those colors when my color is PINK?'. Hehehe. I think they learned pretty quickly that once Heather has made up her mind you might as well just not bother arguing with her ;)
They also bought a house!! When I was 19 I was nowhere near capable of that much responsibilty :) I know she is though :)

Today I went through the Arby's drive through with Po in the car and when I got up to the window to pay the girls inside saw Po and thought he was so cute ('cause he is, ya know). They called all the other employees over to see him and they even gave me a free order of chicken strips for him! He loved that. Lucky for him I don't eat chicken cause they sure smelled good! :)

I got to hang out with the Kennedys today! We sat and talked and had tea, then went out and had lunch and then came back here and talked some more.
Oh and Mr. K painted me a watercolour picture of one of the Martello towers back home! I had been wanting a picture of home. I miss my home. It's a great painting :)
My mom and dad are in D.C. and should be here in about a week. I'm so excited!
The house is super clean. Well, most of it anyway. Our bedroom still looks like a college kid's bedroom and prolly always will :)
I want mac 'n' cheese.

I took Po out for a walk tonight and towards the end of it he found a pile of dirt and started digging. And kept digging. He kept it up for over half an hour! He was having so much fun I didn't want to make him leave. It finally got really windy and dark and so we left. By then he was ready to go too. His tongue was hanging WAY out of his mouth the whole drive home, heheh :)

Tonight I put my foot down with myself. I told myself, Like it or not tomorrow afternoon you HAVE to clean the house. My parents won't be here for another week or two so I wasn't feeling bad procrastinating, but this afternoon Mr. Kennedy called and they are going to be in town on Sunday and are going to stop by and stay for the afternoon. So now I really need to just do it. Although, I'm enjoying having my weekday afternoons off from Gracie so I'm considering cleaning Saturday afternoon instead. No reason to spoil a perfectly good Friday afternoon off with house cleaning, hehehe.
It is very dry in here. After a few minutes my mouth/throat get so dry it's hard to swallow. So I drink lots of water. Which is keeping me up and I can't sleep :P
However, my toes look lovely :)

Some drunk girl plowed into Jen's car last night. It was parked on the street at Kristi's and the doorbell rang at 2 a.m. and it was the police. Drunk Girl had smashed into Jen's car, got out of her car and left it there in the street where it had hit Jen's and was walking down the street. Fortunately the noise woke up some of the neighbors who called the cops. Jen's car was damaged, mainly internally, but not enough to be written off. Oi.

I am craving odd things. Well, no, not odd, just foods I wouldn't normally want. Like I have been wanting bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast for the last week. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a cereal/muffin girl. And tonight when I was walking Po I smelled someone BBQ-ing steak. It made me want steak and baked potatoes and *gasp* veggies. The fresh kind of veggies, not the canned ick. I guess that's my body telling me it needs more protein. I don't really like beef and usually avoid meat unless it is something my Mom or Nana made (num nums!). But Craig does make very yummy bacon :)
I should go to bed, it's another early day tomorrow.

My sister's most recent blog entry is hilarious. It made me burst out loud laughing twice. She has the best sense of humour and the way she put it into words was the funniest part.
Warning: You probably shouldn't read it if you are devoutly religious and have no sense of humour.
P.S. I vote for Bob Barker!

Blogger wasn't cooperating before so here is my blog in a nutshell...
I don't like this crappy Yuma produce. I want real, Ontario, fresh, juicy, tasty raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes and corn. And more. Really, this country has nothing on Canada ;)
I watched a dog show today. I got to see a Bouvier des Flandres. I just love saying that...'Bouvier des Flandres' hehehe :)
Nowhere near as cute as my Po dog though.
I also kicked butt at Trivial Pursuit tonight!
2 weeks til my mommy and daddy are here!! :D

I am watching a dog show. They have a Bouvier des Flanders! I just love saying that. Nowhere near as cute as my Sammy, Po though :)
It's windy out. I like that too.
I miss Ontario produce. I just got back from the grocery store where I dug through the produce bins trying to find ripe fruit and veggies. I love the market at home in the summer. All the fresh raspberries, strawberries, peaches, corn. Yuma hasn't got anything on K-town ;)

Gracie had her Easter egg hunt when she woke up from her nap today. She really liked it.
I managed to weasel my way out of having to chair the meeting tonight. Ed is going to do it for me. I have Kristi's debut and a bunch of other things I need to do for tomorrow, not to mention that Po didn't get a walk this morning so I should really take him for one tonight.
And now, a brief intermission...

I have Pop Culture Trivial Pursuit DVD! We must play it! I can bring it to SLC and we can play the DVD on Craig's laptop in the RV!
I miss my quoting Buddy too :( It's not fun when no one else knows what I mean.
It was the park I go to all the time! There were a bunch of other ppl there walking their dogs and stuff, so no worries. And he was very nice. Besides, you're one to talk; I seem to remember stories about sledding down the stairs at Angoo's...dressing up in his mom's clothes and going to Morrisons. Speaking of which, I miss that place. We must go when I am up this summer! Grilled cheese and vanilla shakes! Fries, BLT, jello, cappuccino, pie! Am I leaving anything out? ;)

The other day Craig forwarded me what I thought was the tackiest, most tasteless invitation I had ever seen. So it goes:
One of his co-workers is pregnant and some of her friends at the office are having a baby shower/breakfast for her at the office today. (So far so good). They e-mailed everyone invites which contained the following (and I quote): "Please bring a gift (she is having a girl) or 10.00 to be placed in a card." (End of quote).
?!??!
Please bring a gift or $10.00? How tacky. I guess when Craig and I sent out our wedding invites we should have written on them, "Remember to give us a gift or minimum $100 cash". JEEZ! You just don't do that. It is a surprise for the girl who is having the baby so I feel kind of bad for her. I would be mortified if people had a shower for me and put that on the invites. When I got married, my sister, who was 16, organized my bridal shower with ten times more class and tact than that. And people give teenagers a hard time and say they are rude. Ugh.
End of Rant.
Ed brought it to my attention yesterday that I am the vice-chair of the Progressive Caucus. I had no idea. Hehehe, oops! And since the chair, Fritzi, is out of town for our next meeting I will be in charge and my first order of business will be to change our titles to something much more fun than 'chair' and 'vice-chair'.
Also, on a fun(ny) note, while I was out walking Po early yesterday morning, a guy in the park started chatting with me about Po. After a minute he opens up his closed fist to reveal a joint and says, "I don't suppose you partake in this type of thing, do you?". I told him my mommy told me never to take drugs from strangers.
Heh.

Ok, it wasn't that bad. Close. I didn't stay until the end. I don't even know when it ended. But I was starving and it wasn't getting anymore interesting so I left. The best thing I took away from it was, "Dear God, please show me your hand through this whole disgusting thing."
Ha ha ha ha. Sorry, you had to be there ;)

Tonight is Star Night. I don't want to go, but I am anyways. Mostly I was going to go to set a good example for Jessica and Kristi, but Kristi can't make it. Oh well, I'll go for Dana, I know she likes it when she has lots of people there. And since Kass and I are usually the only ones from our unit who show up at anything, it means 50% of this rests on me! Or 33.33333% I should say since I think Jessica is going.
If my hands aren't too sore from all the applauding, or too raw *sniffle* from wiping away the *sniff* tears caused by the heartfelt stories *SOB* I'll update later.

That was gross. I just ate what was possibly the nastiest cheeseburger ever. It came from BK. I am starving and after much delay in getting home with groceries Craig stopped on the way at BK to get me a quick cheeseburger. When he gets home and gives it to me I think that it smells sort of weird but figure it's just my imagination. Then I notice two huge green slimy jalapeño peppers sticking out. Ugh. I pulled those out and took a bite and realized it was a double cheeseburger. Double Ugh. So I pull out one of the patties and give it to Po and tried to eat it but the bun was all dry and hard and it had no condiments on it. I ate about half before I couldn't go any further. Now I am burping nasty-chile stuff. GROSS!! I HATE BURGER KING!!! *vomits*

We are back from Phoenix. It rained. I liked it. Car rides make me sooooo sleepy; I am not a good co-driver. If I am napping while Craig is driving and we stop at a red light I actually sort of wake up and think, 'Bugger, why aren't we moving?', and then when we start moving again I think, 'Ahh, that's much better', and fall back asleep. I'm odd.
We got to see Ryan, Brooke and Scott. We all went Go-Karting, well except for Brooke she didn't race with us but I wish she had! I got Olive Garden too. Their breadsticks have changed...They aren't as good as I remember them :P
We also found out that Po likes nuts. He knocked over a basket of shelled nuts at Dan and Starla's and went to town. He cracks the shells with his teeth, spits it all back out on the floor and eats the nut, leaving a mess of shells all over the house. Apparently he started doing this one night after everyone had gone to bed and Starla had a nice mess to clean up in the morning. Heh. Po is also very discriminating; he prefers almonds. There were Brazil nuts, macadamias, walnuts and almonds, and he sticks to the almonds. What a silly doggy :)

We just got back from the fair. It was fun :) I got a little yucky after the tilt-a-whirl but I'm better now :) I like the fair except for those morons at the Yuma Right to Life booth and the Bush-Cheney 2004 booth. Sometimes I wonder if they even pay attention to what is going on. Really. I mean they must live under a rock for the other 51 weeks of the year and then crawl out to man the booth at the fair. What else could explain their stupidity?
Tomorrow is Phoenix. It's going to be a long day. Craig has a meeting all afternoon and Ryan has some happy hour thing with his co-workers so we won't get to see him til late. I'll prolly spend the afternoon at the mall near Craig's meeting.
Po is at Craig's parents'. We were going to have to drop him off really early tomorrow anyway so we just took him over tonight.
I am also working on two tie-dye t-shirts for Craig. He liked the ones that I made for my dad so much that he wanted me to make some for him. So I am :)

This is definitely me...
The firstborn. Parents are so conscious of doing things the right way, so the firstborn gets a lot of attention. Firstborn are eternal list makers. They must stay organized in their thinking. In a group, they tend to be the ones making sure things stay structured. They are the peacemakers, always wanting things worked out. More times than not, because of their perfectionism, they become overwhelmed, but usually find a way to get back into the swing of things.
This is definitely my sister...
The lastborn. He/she is the baby of the family and by the time this child is born, the parents are much more relaxed about their parenting. The children, lastborns often say things like, Its not fair, why do they get more attention than me? They sometimes look for attention by being funny. And sometimes take it to an extreme, even to the point of crying to get attention. As adults they are normally the salesmen, the life of the party, the most lovable.
And it is definitely time for bed.

Mm. I love my sister. Even if she does STAY ON THE PHONE FOR THREE FREAKIN' HOURS!!! "BAD FREAKIN' DOG!!".
And that was just how long I was trying to call my parents...who knows how long she had been on before that! And she had the nerve to click over on call-waiting to tell me that whatever it was they called me for wasn't important! And she wasn't even on the phone with me! It was with Colen! She's already dumping me to go see him in May and she won't even talk with me on the phone. I am seriously bitter. I can tell you exactly what she's doing if she's reading this too; sitting at her desk with her lips pursed, eyebrow raised, and a half-smirk on her face. (Am I right Bobo?) How do I know this? Because I have seen it a million times! Only I'm usually there to antagonize her. It isn't half as much fun over the net. Bah.
Hungover for two days. Dog falling in the pond. Yakking on the phone for hours. I need to go home and straighten her out ;)
At least you blogged. Thank you Kitty Kat! I will expect a call from you tomorrow telling me what a loving sister I am and how much you miss me. And hide your butt. Because les jeux sont faites.......

I had lunch with Dana and Jessica today. Somehow we got on the subject of dentists and Dana asked who I went to and I replied, "Dr.Hannon". As soon as I said it she said, "You look like a Dr. Hannon patient!". I'm not sure what that meant but I will take it as a compliment since his office is homey and cozy and everyone is really friendly (even if they are Republicans!) ;)
Also, I think I have a new addiction: Vanilla espresso bean shakes. YUM. I tried some chocolate covered espresso beans for the first time today. They were good, not nearly as strong as I thought they'd be.
Ryan is down for the weekend and a bunch of us went to eat at Chili Pepper. I don't particularly like it there but it is a Yuma institution and everyone else loves it so I went along to be with my friends :) We had a really fun time. Or I did anyway. I was a super messy eater tonight!
After, Jessica and I went to JC Penny and window-shopped then met everyone back over at Hastings. I got some Happy Bunny socks ("Hi. Cram it.") and a Happy Bunny keychain/compact mirror ("You suck and that's sad.") for Teresa. I think we're going to hang out tomorrow after she is done work and after I have had lunch with Ry before he goes back to Phoenix. Next Sunday Teresa and I are going to Phoenix to shop! 'Cause there are no decent stores here! Target, Sears, Mervyn's and JC Penny get old very fast.
Wow, this is long. I'm going to relax. Not that this entry was stressful, I just mean relax in general. SNL is on and Craig already went to bed. On my own! :c)

My grape juice is kosher for Passover. I didn't know this (not that it matters to me) until I drank some of my juice and thought it tasted too diluted and sweet. So upon investigating the label ("100% REAL JUICE!!!") I see that not only is it from concentrate with other fruit juices in it (blech), but it is also "Kosher...For Passover". If you are Jewish does everything you eat have to be Kosher? Or only at Passover or what? Based on what I know (which isn't much) I'd make a much better Jew than Catholic. A few years back, our accountant, who sends her kids to a local Catholic school, tried to get us to donate $200 to the local Catholic school board so we could claim it as a tax deduction. I told her I'd rather give the $200 to the government to install gold toilet seats in the Pentagon than to teach kids that abortion and homosexuality are wrong, and let child-molesting priests go on their merry way.
She didn't like that.
We now have a new accountant ;)

What is up with people who eat an extremely poor diet, don't exercise, and then sue fast food companies for their health problems? Is that not akin to purposely setting yourself on fire, then suing the match manufacturer and saying, 'I didn't know that was going to burn me!'?
It's okay, it isn't like the courts are overflowing with other cases that need to be heard. In fact, they could probably use some extra work so it's good that these idiots are around to waste everyone's time with these frivolous lawsuits.

I am compiling a list of all the "bad" things Kim and I have done/gotten into/had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...
(more will follow as I think of them)
My bed (CRACK!)
Kim's bed (CRACK!) and the strategic placement of the cans of chick peas that followed
The bed in the hotel in Ottawa (BOOM!)
Pink nailpolish on my cream carpet ("Just shut up and keep scrubbing!")
Mark Rothko
"Hey Ratzo Fatso!!!"

I have decided it's time to colour my hair. Anyone who knows me knows that the only person who touches my hair (other than myself) is Lisa. However Lisa is back home and since I probably won't be there until June, and since my roots are threatening to form The Democratic Republic of Viki's Natural Hair Colour, I have decided to take my hair in my hands and dye it closer to its original colour...I'm thinking a sort of Catherine Zeta Jones colour. Apparently highlights are out and one-tone colour is in. And this will be less maintenance until I can get in to see Lisa.
Too bad Bobo isn't here to dye it for me, we have fun doing stuff like that. And we seem to have an uncanny ability to break/stain/ruin things which inevitably entails us having to fix/hide the damage from Mom. He he he.

Someone went to mysearch.com and searched for "george w. bush stickers" and a link to my blog was one of the results! I'm laughing my butt off.
I hope they weren't looking for some sort of pro-Bush crap; they will be sorely disappointed, though I would relish the look of surprise and disgust on their face. If, however, they were looking for an anti-Bush girl to commiserate with, then they have come to the right place! :)

My Dad and I signed up to pilot the Pants-On-Fire-mobile when it comes through Arizona!!! Woo hoo!!!

I ate a Ding Dong today. Apparently this was my second run-in with a Ding Dong. Craig swears I had one a few years back. I don't remember it. I guess it wasn't very memorable. Neither was this one. It was somewhat dry and not very chocolatey. And the cream filling left a lot to be desired. However, now that I can cross Ding Dongs off my list of junk foods I have never eaten before (and probably never will again) I am freed up to pursue the intricacies of Ring Dings and Ho Hos. Ahhh, American junk food.
Switching gears, I got to hang out with two U.S. Marshals today! They came into the office looking for a guy in the park behind us and I got to pick their brains while we waited for Donna to come over with the tennant list. They were undercover. It was neato. They were calling their people and running license plates and showing us mug shots to see if we had seen any of the people they were looking for. I hope they come back, that was fun :)

I got to talk to my Aunt Chris, my cousin Heather, my Mom and my Dad tonight! It was a chatty evening :)
Heather is getting married in May! She was in my wedding so I can't wait to see her get married. Most of our discussion was about wedding plans :)
I "talked" to my sister too but that was on MSN. She has a date tomorrow. On that note; if anyone in Kingston, Ontario is interested in a job as a spy/bodyguard, e-mail me.
I am working on my Dad's birthday prezzie, however since I now know he reads this I can't go into detail.
Hi Daddy :)
The cheque's in the mail.

I'm so proud of my sister. She is taking up my cause :) Go read her blog if you don't know what I'm talking about.
In other fast-breaking news, Albertsons had Breyers half gallon ice cream on for $1.99! I went a little nuts and got 3 containers (coffee, chocolate and orange-vanilla creamsicle) but hey, it's ice cream; it'll last. Plus with the way this heat is sticking around you can never have too much ice cream :)
Craig ended up not having to work late today, he was home around noon. Yippee!!
Tomorrow I think is boating.
My tummy is rumbly. I need a snack.

Am I the one who is supposed to remain nameless? I hope so, I love to be an annonymous troublemaker ;)
Chilina called me! It was nice to talk to her, it had been too long! They are in San Francisco now. I want to go see her when she is performing in L.A.
Fenner has been accepted to the Ph.D program at Osgoode Hall so they might go there, they are just waiting to hear from New York and England (I forget which schools he applied to there). I don't know how that guy can stomach so much school.
I am waiting for my pizza. Num num.
Craig has to work most of the weekend...he's still there now actually...but I'm hoping we can take the boat out on Sunday. This heat is driving me bonkers!

Bush-Cheney 2004: No billionaire left behind
In the span of 5 minutes today I saw 2 "Bush Cheney 2004" stickers, 1 "I stand with President George W. Bush" stickers and 1 anti-abortion sticker. What a bunch of idiots. But really, what do I expect? Here I am in this pocket of ultra-conservative, good ol' boy territory. Do these people really understand what Bush and his cronies are doing to this country? Something tells me that if people would stop believing everything that comes out of the WH press room and everything they see on the news and look at what is really happening to this country they wouldn't be so pro-Bush.
I love driving around with my anti-Bush bumper stickers. I love watching the people in the car behind me when I'm stopped at a red light reading my stickers. That's right, read those stickers and maybe get it through your skull that we aren't all gullible GOP clones, and we care enough to promote an alternative (and the truth!).
Of course, if you want to take us back to the days of illegal back-alley abortions, more job losses, rampant paranoia (quick! Someone call HUAC!), extensive damage to Social Security, no socialized health care and illegal wars waged against oil-rich countries (and a few non oil-rich ones just to make it look like it's a coincidence) then by all means Bush is your man.
In the span of 5 minutes today I saw 2 "Bush Cheney 2004" stickers, 1 "I stand with President George W. Bush" stickers and 1 anti-abortion sticker. What a bunch of idiots. I love Headlines on The Tonight Show. They always crack me up. I need to figure out a way to put a random one on my blog each day.
I have been making a (very) concerted effort to keep the kitchen clean since we super-cleaned it last weekend. It is spotless. Every night I load up the dishwasher and clean the countertops and get rid of any clutter. Last night I slacked off and didn't do that so tonight not all of the dishes fit in the dishwasher. I am a firm believer in the "If it won't fit in the dishwasher, I'm not washing it" school of thought so the two pots and various utensils will have to wait until tomorrow :)
Speaking of tomorrow, Craig has to be at kofa at 6:30 so I better get in bed.

I showed Bobo how to set up her own blog! You should go visit it, she's super cool!! She's my sister, she has to be, right? ;)
We also traded some designs for our sister tattoos that we're going to get. We found some base designs that we like, now we just need to work on modifying and personalizing.
We now have chickens living in the shed. There is a mom chicken and then about 12 little tiny chicks. They are cute. Po thought they were playmates and tried to go chase them but the mom chicken came out and bopped him on the nose so he doesn't mess with them anymore :)
Craig is making garlic bread so I should go eat dinner, then walk PoDog.

Gracie and I made chocolate chip cookies together today. It was fun. She accidentally dumped a cup of brown sugar on the floor, but nothing the broom couldn't fix. She was actually very good at it! We ate some and then layed on the couch together until it was time for me to take her home. She is such a cutie. I love when I get to cuddle with her. She's my little lovebug. I can't believe she's going to be 4 in July!

Yesterday. Po comes to work with me every morning and yesterday he was hanging out in Dan's office and some clients came in and so they were all in Dan's office going over contracts and stuff and I heard this commotion and then I heard the lady say, "I think he just threw up!". So I go into Dan's office and the three of them are standing over Po who has just ralphed up one of my old, used cosmetic sponges, one of Gracie's dolls (in many pieces), some cardboard and some grass. Lovely. I would probably throw up too if that was in my tummy. Crazy dog. So I cleaned it up and the meeting went forth. Heehee.
Then, not an hour later I was walking from the parking lot into Gracie's pre-school to pick her up and I was wearing heels, albeit very small ones, and it had just rained and the concrete at the school is painted and was slippery and I managed to somehow fling my foot out to the side, plant it and do an unplanned version of the splits all while flailing my arms. Even worse, I made this horrible noise as I was going down, like a parrot squawking mixed with a scream, "BRRAWHH!". That noise that came out of my mouth was almost more embarrassing than the spontaneous gymnastics show I put on.
I'm still laughing out loud about it. At least I can amuse myself :)

Oi. What a day. And it's only half over. This afternoon shouldn't be as nuts though. Dan had two offers going on a piece of property and so we were faxing offers and counter offers back and forth and then he had to leave to go to a meeting so I had to finish the process, which is easy enough, but the printer decided it didn't want to print the fax cover sheets and the fax machine decided to retaliate by eating two pages at once. During all this the garbage truck came and started talking to me. Well, the truck didn't talk to me, the guy who was driving it did. Then the phone kept ringing, it was one of the potential buyer's agent wanting to know if we were going to accept her offer (we did).
Now I am at home with Grace. I was going to work on my invites (by hand) while she napped but I made up a different (much cuter!) one real quick on my computer at work and e-mailed it to Craig, hopefully he'll be nice enough to print it for me :)

I just had my first (and second and third) s'mores! Yummy! Craig made it for me! I'm not sure why I didn't eat them when I was little...I didn't particularly care for graham crackers when I was little so that might have had something to do with it.
We also SUPER cleaned the kitchen today. It's almost scary how clean it is. I love it!
I also have TMJ so my jaw hurts.
I also have a headache and need to get up early to walk Po before work tomorrow so I should go to bed.
'Night! :)

So I called the show while Rodney was on and Russ Clark invited me on sometime to talk about the different health care systems. Won't that be a lovefest.
That was the same morning that Po and I had the car adventure with 3 strangers and then he had to be dropped off for his bath and I was so close to being late for work that I didn't shower or wash my hair. I looked lovely that day ;)
Craig is sick and I am cranky. I'm going to hang out on the couch before doing pond work tomorrow and cleaning the house.
Also, taxes are done and it looks like a nice refund is coming our way!
I love sour gummy worms.

I finally updated the link to Tracy's new blog :)
It's supposed to rain today!
Gramma Lou and Grampa Bob came down for the day yesterday. We went to lunch, then to the new office where I made Gramma Lou some business cards for her paintings while Craig did spiffy stuff to my computer. Then we went to Wally World and got a new battery for the boat and I got a fishing license.
We got home and I was planning on just lazing around for the rest of the day but Kass called and asked if I wanted to come over, so I did. Deb was there. She is always so together and professional and classy...I feel like a messy 5 year-old next to her :) She is very nice though :)
I'm holding off on walking Po, hoping it will start to rain soon and then I can walk him in the rain. Ha.

Ann Coulter is such an idiot it's almost funny. She is so blinded by her own self-importance and rhetoric that she is like a dog madly chasing its tail; funny to watch but you wonder when it's going to catch on. Actually I shouldn't compare her to a canine, that is insulting. To dogs!! Haha, oh that woman....I think she's delusional. If she put all that energy into something useful she might actually accomplish something. Heh. Imbecile.

These are the times I wish Po was a short-haired dog. For some unknown reason he has diarrhea (luckily he was smart enough to go outside!). He came back in with shit (literally) dripping from his ass. I kicked him outside and lit scented candles to get rid of the smell. He was whining to come back in so I went outside and hosed his butt down. He came back inside the house now smelling like ass and wet dog. Lovely.
Adding to my animal stories, I ran over a cat last night while I was driving home. It was dark out, the cat was black and it ran out in front of me. I swerved but still hit it. Jessica was right behind me and told me the cat did a somersault and ran off into the woods so I'm hoping I only ran over its tail or something (I know; running over its tail is still bad, I just mean I'm hoping I didn't injure it severely. And please don't lecture me on how running over a cat's tail is still severe, I know that).

I stopped by Staples tonight to get some stuff for the office and there was this cute guy working there and he asked me 4 times if I was finding everything OK. Finally I asked him if he got paid to ask people that...he said, "I wish!". The last few times I have been in Staples all the employees have been overly solicitous as to my ability to find things.
And for Craig (who hates the word 'cute' being applied to any guy over the age of about 4) I just can't say "handsome"; that is too James Bond, GQ, bleh. "Hot" is too mallrat. "Fine" is just not a word I would ever use to describe someone's appearance unless I was talking about their hair. "Gorgeous" I just don't like the sound of. And so since I mean it in the most adult context (ha ha) and not in a 2 year-old way (he he), I say he was cute.

I was just subjected to what is possibly the worst and most annoying "song" I have ever heard. 'Milkshake' by some girl named Kelis (sp?). It was on SNL. That song was painful. I sure hope she's a one-hit-wonder (and from the sounds of that song she will be, heh) 'cause that was just BAD. I had to mute it until she was done. Seriously, I would rather listen to Kenny G and Yanni duet on Disco Duck.

Craig and I are going out to have Chinese food on Saturday. I felt like it yesterday and Craig suggested we go out for it on Saturday, which coincidentally is Valentines Day.
I don't celebrate V-day. I never have.
I think it's ridiculous. I think Craig does too.
A day propagated by the card, flower, and candy industries that just stresses people out over what to get for someone else? YUCK! It almost has no meaning since you know if you have a significant other that he/she was all but forced into buying some tacky red heart-shaped box of candy and a sappy/cheesy card. The pressure to find the perfect romantic restaurant. The $80.00 a dozen you'll be paying for roses that will die in a week. ENOUGH!
If someone wants to tell me they love me or do something nice for me, then just do it WHENEVER the mood strikes you. That way I know they are doing it because they want to and not just because it's Valentine's Day and that's what is expected of them.
So on Saturday I will be enjoying both my eggrolls with plum sauce and the time I get to spend with Craig, and I'll be gloating at all the other over-dressed, over-stressed, bouquet carrying, candy-eating, card-reading couples I see who are only out that day because they are "supposed" to be.

Tracy is wonderfully sweet and offered to pick me up some mouse-safe mouse traps on her next order from the vegan store. The mice seem to have gone away for now, but it would be nice to have the trap around in case they decide to make a return trip.
Also, Ed and I almost got demolished last night by an F150 as I was turning onto his street. What a way for two Dean supporters to be taken out; "by a pick-up truck with a confederate flag on the back", (Ed came up with that, if you don't follow Dean you prolly won't get it) hehehe. And I make fun of HIM for being hyper active and nutty.
Leaving all your car doors plus your trunk open in a parking lot, with the door light on and the ignition dinging and Dean papers flying all over the place definitely qualifies as NUTTY! :)
That was Ed, btw, not me :)
We need to find the local Kucinich guy; he's like a monkey!

Regardless of the outcome I know that I did all I could do and that is good enough for me. It was very calm standing outside the polling station this morning (except for the warp 8 wind). Almost like the calm before the storm.
I am very sleepy for some reason. Gracie wants to decorate a cake so I am baking one right now. The oven is beeping, I better go check it.

I got my butt kicked bowling with Ica and Dan. It was fun though. It was Extreme Bowling! We bowled 5 games. My arm is sore from my shoulder to my wrist. I also have a bruise/blister on my right ring finger.
My belly button ring was looking irritated yesterday. I put some stuff on it and it looked better this morning.
Taxes are half done. My goal was to be done tomorrow but today didn't go exactly as planned and we are still waiting on a W2.
Sheep.

I live in a mouse house.
We have mice. Ugh. I bought some traps and set them last night. It only took Po two snaps to figure out this wasn't a new toy for him. Craig thinks he knows where they are coming in so he's going to fix it tomorrow.
I also made super yummy banana bread, homemade lemonade and chai tea for Craig.
I have the urge to fly home and visit my family and just chill out and BE CANADIAN. Whatever that means. I feel like I can just be who I am at home. People leave you be and appreciate you for you. Not for what you have. Down here there is so much emphasis on material things and keeping up with the Jones'. I find myself getting caught up in it. I have to take a step back and remind myself, This isn't who I am, this isn't how I was raised, this isn't what matters.
What is important is stuff like watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles with my sister the other night. Well, we were on the phone and she was watching it so we "watched" it together. Not the whole thing, just the part where they're driving down the highway and John Candy is doing the Mess Around thing. Hehehe, I'm starting to laugh just thinking about it. I love my sister :) She's the only person who gets me sometimes.
I also ordered a new cell phone (T616), hooray! I'm so tired of this crappy Samsung phone and crappy Sprint service telling me there is no signal (even though my phone is showing full signal strength), dropping calls, not working inside buildings (where everyone else's phones work!), and fading out so I can only hear every 3 or so words of the conversation. It worked great when I first got it, but 2 years seems to have taken its toll :P

The real State of the Union
Thanks to Aja for pointing me to that url!
I am tired and going to sleep. I went over to Teresa's for awhile. She had a craving for crêpes at IHOP so I went with her and kept her company and we talked. Then we went back to her house and Todd took Lane and Catherine out somewhere so Teresa and I flipped off all the lights and flaked out (she has very comfortable furniture) and watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. We were both super tired by the end so she went to bed and I left to come home and now I go to bed too. Must rest up for tomorrow. BBQ and HOUSE CLEANING!!! My house is so cute when it's tidy!

I ran away from my Dean duties. I had been downtown doing stuff since 9:30. It's the "Lettuce Days" festival downtown, (don't ask), and there are people EVERYWHERE. Which means there are NO parking spaces. So after walking 10 blocks roundtrip twice to get stuff from my car, then being sent to go pick up pizza and sitting in traffic for 45 minutes for what is routinely a 20 minute trip I had had ENOUGH and decided to come home and be with my doggy. Who, as soon as I walked through the door, decided he'd rather be outside munching a Greenie. Oh well, I got a new Cosmo yesterday and I'm going to go read that. I hope Rodney doesn't call me and tell me I have someone staying with me tonight, I told him I needed to know BEFORE they got here so we could chat with them first.
I was also verbally assaulted by some street performer but I just yelled back so that was okay. I enjoy yelling at people who deserve to be yelled at.
Bugger, I need to do tax stuff too. I want to get it in early this year. I said I was going to last year and didn't. This being a grown-up isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I didn't realize it was almost 10. I guess I lost track of time while I was at my Dean meeting tonight. We just sat around at the Dem HQ and got the brochures labeled and ready for the drops this weekend. Just sat around and talked and worked. It was actually fun. I hadn't really wanted to go but I promised Luis and Ed that I would and it was actually fun. Unfortunately the cable was out so we couldn't watch the debate while we were there.
Sometimes I feel like I am starting to belong here. Like just maybe I have a little place that I fit into here. With people that just might understand where I'm coming from. Nowhere but K-town will ever be HOME...but maybe I won't feel so isolated anymore. It's a good feeling.
Po is making a meal out of one of my old hairbrushes. He already played around in the pond and retrieved a dead fish. He also stole the loaf of bread I made this morning off the kitchen counter and deposited it onto the doggy bed. What a monkey.
I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I want to rest and completely kick this cold's butt. Craig's grandparents are here this weekend so we have two family dinners to do with them while they're here.
There is a Nine West purse that Ireally want but I can't find one with my initial! I would settle for one with an 'm' even! It would seem silly to have one that has an initial that isn't mine...and I've looked at identical purses that have no initial at all and they just aren't as fun.
Time for snack and bed.

Fritzi forwarded this to me. This makes the misery of my cold just melt away ... ;)
First Look: Bush's State of the Union Address
By Rich Procter
FINAL DRAFT -- POTUS APPROVED (ALTHOUGH HAS NOT LOOKED AT, TO MAINTAIN DENIABILITY)
"Mr. Speaker, Vice President Cheney, members of Congress, traitorous Democratic vermin, distinguished citizens and fellow RepubliCorp Executives,
First of all, I'm saddened to report the untimely death of my former associate turned filthy, backstabbing scum, Mr. Paul O'Neill. Mr. O'Neill was apparently electrocuted in the Green Room of CNN before a taping of "Crossfire." This country's beloved Attorney Generalissimo, John "God's Enforcer" Ashcroft has already determined that Dick Cheney's heart defibrillator, found next to Mr. O'Neill, played no part in his death.
Now on to more important matters - how I'm going to re-electrify myself to the Presidentiary in 2004.
Last year I told you that Saddam Hussein had more dangerous offensive Weapons of Mass Destruction than Darth Vader put together. I was absolutely correct in this assertion - not because I actually WAS correct, but because if I were to admit I was wrong, that would violate the Bush Presidential Code of Immaculate Perfectiveness that is vital to our Worldly Pre-emptive Greatness.
The only question that remains is, what will I do to top my unblemished infallibleness in 2004? Here's a heapin' helpin' of chewy Presidential goodness from yours truly:
First of all, IRAQ. I am pleased to announce that from this day forward, there will be no more American combat deaths in Iraq. From now on, any soldiers allegedly, as the liberal media would bleat, "killed" in Iraq, will be listed as "Temporarily on Permanent Non-Living" Status. This list will, of course, be classified Top Secret. And the reason for classifying it Top Secret will itself be Top Secret. And I'm putting my man Dick Cheney in charge of the list. Besides being optimistic and forward thinking, this policy will also provide a benefit to you taxpayers, since BushCo won't have to pay survivor's benefits to the families of the deceased, since there will be no deceased.
Free elections will be held in Iraq this summer. Since my good friends at Diebold will provide the machines for these elections, I am already able to tell you the new President of Iraq - Ahmad Chalabi - will receive exactly 79.1% of the votes. Congratulations, Mr. Chalabi.
Now let's move on to what I'm calling "Operation Moondoggle." A lot of folks out there are sayin' that my plan to shovel a ton o' dough at various Texas-based defense contractors in the vague hope of landing men on Mars 20 years after I'm retired and playing in celebrity golf tournaments is a cynical election year ploy to marinate myself in some of that ol' JKF stardust, without actually committing anything but another corporate give-away. To these people I say, 'And your point is?'
Moving on - let's talk about my plan to modernize, streamline, 'right-size' and re-configurate via free market solutions Social Security. I will introduce a plan to the Congress that will divert all FICA payroll taxes away from evil, Socialistic hand-outs to ungrateful, greedy geezers and instead give that money to Pharmaceutical companies, to do with as they please.
On to the jobs situation. I have decided to take the boldest possible initiative to insure that everyone in America who wants a minimum wage job with no health benefits shall have one. To this end, I will ask Congress to replace the current Department of Labor with the Corporate Board of Wal-Mart. Their first actions will be to cap salaries, outlaw overtime, exempt employers from offering health insurance, limit bathroom breaks to one a day, and lock employees inside the building during work hours.
Finally, on the environmental front, I'm creating 'Operation No Oil Drilling In Our National Parks." The purpose of this initiative is to explore oil drilling in our national parks. This must be done in a responsible fashion, so the derricks don't mess with red-state fun seekers on snowmobiles, jet skis, motocross bicycles and monster trucks.
In closing, let me just say that I welcome the opportunity to engage in a robust debate this election year. I pledge to use my 200 million dollar war chest to carpet bomb whatever girly-man loser the Democrats nominate in a wholly positive way. I just hope whichever piece of radical, defeatist, Satan-loving, Prius-driving, Hate-America-First scum the Democrats select will also run a positive campaign.
Thank you, and God bless.
Chalabi.

I have a cold.
1 of my nozzles is stuffed up and the other is pretty much fine. My throat is scratchy too. I don't know anyone who's sick so I don't know who to thank for this lovely virus.
I took a pseudoephederine which helps clear my nose for about an hour then stops working. But I can't take another one for 4 hours :P
Bitch bitch whine whine.
Somewhow we managed to rack up a $400 water bill over a 62 day period. Apparently we used over 314,000 gallons of water, which works out to over 5000 gallons a day. Um, sure. I called the city water ppl and they lady said our usage has spiked and she thinks we may have a leak. Wonderful. I'll have to check for that later when Craig gets home.
Right now I need to get dressed and go pick up a new toothbrush for Po and possibly a few Greenies. Hopefully they will allay his penchant for chewing on things he isn't supposed to!

I had so much fun eating my crazy bread and watching Joan of Arcadia last night, and this afternoon driving home from precinct walking I thought, that should be my Friday night ritual. Then I immediately realized that Craig would never "allow" it. Cause crazy bread isn't good for me, ya know :P Bugger, that's what I had parents for...to tell me what to eat and do and whatnot. The funny part is, Craig is way more uptight with me than my mom and dad ever were. Bah, I wanna do what I wanna do. If that means sitting on the floor on Friday nights eating crazy bread and watching tv, so be it!!!
Anyway, Ed and I did well with the precinct stuff. We covered about 150 houses and Luis, Frankie and Carmen did another 150. We're getting together Thursday at the Dem HQ to get everything ready for the out of town volunteers who start showing up next weekend.
My feet hurt, I'm going to go flake out.

This morning I met Kass for coffee (which turned into a smoothie) and then did some running around before the usual Gracie afternoon. Craig and I had dinner out and I took a piece of Bailey's mouse cake over to Kass' with me after walking Po. We sat and ate it and chatted. Chase, Lakyn and Kyndra got in on it too :)
My dad's phone system went berserk and wouldn't let any calls come in or go out so I called my dad who was on the road to Davenport and he gave me instructions on how to fix it and I e-mailed them to my mom and eventually everything got straightened out. The wonders of technology :)

I just got off the phone with my Daddy. He is in Cambridge, ON tonight. It was so cold this morning that the RV wouldn't start so he rented a car (my sister had my dad's car off at work and he doesn't like driving my mom's car - no cruise control!) so he got away a couple hours late and then there was a 3 hour traffic jam in Toronto. Bugger. So he was hoping to get to Flint, MI tonight but that didn't quite happen; he's still hoping to be in Davenport, IA late tomorrow or early Friday. I'm so proud of him. So I'm doing my part here in Yuma and he's doing his in Iowa. Then when he is here in March he can do stuff here too :) I love my Daddy. I love my whole family actually. I'm lucky I ended up with such cool, loving, smart, openminded people :)

Bah, ADOT tried to not renew my license! (Yes, I'm well aware that is a split infinitive; don't lecture me on it). They use my permanent resident card to give me my license, so when my PR card expires (as it does every year until the BCIS gives me permanent permanent residency), the BCIS sends me a new PR card and I go over to ADOT and they give me another license valid until my new PR card expires. So the BCIS is backlogged (by a year) and sent me an official notice that my card has been extended for a year from the original date on my PR card. So I march over to ADOT and give them my stuff plus the notice and the lady says, "We can't take this, it's not on our list of acceptable documents". And I thought, if the BCIS is okay with this (and they are HARD to please) then surely ADOT can suck it up. But no. So I tell her that the notice is the only thing I will get from them until they are ready for me to come to Phoenix and get a whole new card. It has my name and A-number on it and everything, I'm not sure what the problem was. So she goes to find her supervisor and they come back and they ask a few more questions about documents I have and the supervisor says it's fine, to go ahead and renew it. Thank you
I feel sick too. I felt worse yesterday. I woke up every 2 hours in the night. Not sure why, just did.
When I got home from ADOT I discovered Po had gone through the garbage and fished out a cake and eaten a bunch of it. He had also made a snack out of some, ahem, feminine hygiene products. *sigh* If he weren't so cute I'd kill him.

Cleaned up my photo album and added some new images. Lazy day. Made a coconut cake. Walked Po and grocery shopped with Craig. Did some cleaning. Read. Napped. We're thinking about rearranging the living room furniture. Not exactly sure what to do with it yet though. I'm going to watch SNL and then go to bed. 'Night!

Of all the assinine things that this administration has done so far this one is such a glaring grab for votes that it's almost funny.
Yes, let's invite illegal immigrants here. Sure, call it "temporary worker status" and say that it would give the government a way to document the illegals and it would actually be so much better for the country. BULLSHIT!!! What a slap in the face to everyone who has to wait in their home country, apply legally, and jump through the many hoops that the U.S. government requires. I have nothing agianst immigrants; I'm an immigrant! But I did it legally. I respected the laws and processes of this country and waited (9 months). And I'm still doing paperwork out the ass not to mention paying wads of money every year or so to stay here. Luckily that should be done by this summer, but that's a side issue. How lovely to know that my taxes and the social programs my taxes fund aren't going to the people who legally reside here, but people who are being rewarded for bad (illegal!) behaviour.
Christ on a bike. I'm usually very socially liberal, but this is something that just does NOT make sense. I hope people are smart enough to see that this is just Dubya pandering for votes.
I did kickboxing this morning and pictured Bush and Rove as my targets. That always helps me relieve stress :)
