Burt Bacharach saw Mamma Mia! the other night and liked Chilina so much he gave her his phone number, and long story short, she is going to record a song on his next album!! That is in the next 2 months. Then she has a voice-over for Delta airlines! And she met all these celebrities at their opening night party last week. I guess that's L.A. for ya :)
I'm so proud she's my best friend! (With the exception of Bobo of course, but that's different; we're sisters...better than best friends!) :)

I agree with Bobo. It's messed up. And how rude to include a card telling us where they are registered and not even being able to go in the the temple for the actual ceremony.
But I'm not too upset, I love my cousin.
But it's still messed up ;)

My mommy and daddy got here today! They would have been here last night except they blew a tire in Phoenix and by the time it was fixed it was midnight, so they just stayed there. They brought me stuff from home including chocolate, lemon pie filling, cheese and maple syrup!! All stuff I can't get down here...well, I can get them all down here, but they are different brands and nowhere near as good as from home. Especially the cheese and maple syrup. Vermont puts forth a vailant effort, but their syrup just isn't the same...you can't get it the same when you are cranking out thousands of bottles a day. It has to be done the old fashioned way. But I have a large supply now so I am good :)

They also brought me a bunch of my Christmas prezzies that were too big to fly with and would cost too much to ship. And my Dad brought me a ReDefeat Bush in 2004! bumper sticker! I now have 3 anti-Bush stickers! Now I just need to get some pro-choice ones and then I can really piss off the conservatives in this hicktown.

Tonight...maple syrup
Tomorrow...the Gracerator

I am all in favor of the No CARB diet. You know:

No...

Cheney
Ashcroft
Rumsfeld
Bush

Heh heh.

However, this is taking it too far. This is embarassing. Twelve servings of roast beef? You might as well be eating carbs! Jeez, you're supposed to eat HEALTHY. Healthy does not = 12 servings of meat all in one sitting. These people who run around eating a hamburger without the bun and only eat macrobiotic, not-cooked-over-110-degrees or whatever the hell it is crack me up. You must not have much else to do if that is what your life has been reduced to. Moderation, people! And then that couple got all bent out of shape because the restaurant didn't want them inhaling the entire buffet?!
The nerve!
*snicker* I'm going to go laugh for awhile now.

But before I do, Robin got back today and brought me the cutest t-shirt! It is black and in white lettering is reads, Everyone Loves a Canadian Girl. The 'Canadian' is red and glittery and there are little red hearts on it. Too cute! Too true! :)

Martha Stewart may be one cracked-out control-freak, that I don't care enough about to speculate on, however the lady does know her cookies.

My Mommy and Daddy are in Tulsa tonight! They will either be here late Sunday or Monday. YAY!!!!!

I talked to my cousin Heather last night. She is so cute and all excited about her wedding (23 days!). She was at the reception hall picking out linens for the tables. She requested pink tableclothes with pink napkins. Her theme is pink, in case you hadn't guessed (anyone remember Julia Roberts' character's wedding in Steel Magnolias?)
I guess the reception hall manager was trying to steer her towards burgundy tableclothes with cream napkins (YUK!). Heather was like, 'Why would I want those colors when my color is PINK?'. Hehehe. I think they learned pretty quickly that once Heather has made up her mind you might as well just not bother arguing with her ;)

They also bought a house!! When I was 19 I was nowhere near capable of that much responsibilty :) I know she is though :)

Today I went through the Arby's drive through with Po in the car and when I got up to the window to pay the girls inside saw Po and thought he was so cute ('cause he is, ya know). They called all the other employees over to see him and they even gave me a free order of chicken strips for him! He loved that. Lucky for him I don't eat chicken cause they sure smelled good! :)

I got to hang out with the Kennedys today! We sat and talked and had tea, then went out and had lunch and then came back here and talked some more.
Oh and Mr. K painted me a watercolour picture of one of the Martello towers back home! I had been wanting a picture of home. I miss my home. It's a great painting :)

My mom and dad are in D.C. and should be here in about a week. I'm so excited!

The house is super clean. Well, most of it anyway. Our bedroom still looks like a college kid's bedroom and prolly always will :)

I want mac 'n' cheese.

I took Po out for a walk tonight and towards the end of it he found a pile of dirt and started digging. And kept digging. He kept it up for over half an hour! He was having so much fun I didn't want to make him leave. It finally got really windy and dark and so we left. By then he was ready to go too. His tongue was hanging WAY out of his mouth the whole drive home, heheh :)

Tonight I put my foot down with myself. I told myself, Like it or not tomorrow afternoon you HAVE to clean the house. My parents won't be here for another week or two so I wasn't feeling bad procrastinating, but this afternoon Mr. Kennedy called and they are going to be in town on Sunday and are going to stop by and stay for the afternoon. So now I really need to just do it. Although, I'm enjoying having my weekday afternoons off from Gracie so I'm considering cleaning Saturday afternoon instead. No reason to spoil a perfectly good Friday afternoon off with house cleaning, hehehe.

It is very dry in here. After a few minutes my mouth/throat get so dry it's hard to swallow. So I drink lots of water. Which is keeping me up and I can't sleep :P

However, my toes look lovely :)

Some drunk girl plowed into Jen's car last night. It was parked on the street at Kristi's and the doorbell rang at 2 a.m. and it was the police. Drunk Girl had smashed into Jen's car, got out of her car and left it there in the street where it had hit Jen's and was walking down the street. Fortunately the noise woke up some of the neighbors who called the cops. Jen's car was damaged, mainly internally, but not enough to be written off. Oi.

I am craving odd things. Well, no, not odd, just foods I wouldn't normally want. Like I have been wanting bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast for the last week. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a cereal/muffin girl. And tonight when I was walking Po I smelled someone BBQ-ing steak. It made me want steak and baked potatoes and *gasp* veggies. The fresh kind of veggies, not the canned ick. I guess that's my body telling me it needs more protein. I don't really like beef and usually avoid meat unless it is something my Mom or Nana made (num nums!). But Craig does make very yummy bacon :)

I should go to bed, it's another early day tomorrow.

My sister's most recent blog entry is hilarious. It made me burst out loud laughing twice. She has the best sense of humour and the way she put it into words was the funniest part.
Warning: You probably shouldn't read it if you are devoutly religious and have no sense of humour.
P.S. I vote for Bob Barker!
Oh there is my other post. How lovely of it to come along just after I finished the second one. I'll leave them both there out of spite.
Blogger wasn't cooperating before so here is my blog in a nutshell...

I don't like this crappy Yuma produce. I want real, Ontario, fresh, juicy, tasty raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes and corn. And more. Really, this country has nothing on Canada ;)

I watched a dog show today. I got to see a Bouvier des Flandres. I just love saying that...'Bouvier des Flandres' hehehe :)
Nowhere near as cute as my Po dog though.

I also kicked butt at Trivial Pursuit tonight!

2 weeks til my mommy and daddy are here!! :D

Sunday, April 11, 2004

I am watching a dog show. They have a Bouvier des Flanders! I just love saying that. Nowhere near as cute as my Sammy, Po though :)

It's windy out. I like that too.

I miss Ontario produce. I just got back from the grocery store where I dug through the produce bins trying to find ripe fruit and veggies. I love the market at home in the summer. All the fresh raspberries, strawberries, peaches, corn. Yuma hasn't got anything on K-town ;)

Gracie had her Easter egg hunt when she woke up from her nap today. She really liked it.

I managed to weasel my way out of having to chair the meeting tonight. Ed is going to do it for me. I have Kristi's debut and a bunch of other things I need to do for tomorrow, not to mention that Po didn't get a walk this morning so I should really take him for one tonight.

And now, a brief intermission...

A poem (by Micket)

    "Ode to my Sister"

Dearest buttcat, dearest buttcat
How I love you.
Let me count the ways:
One

Three
Four

Five?
Soundoff.

FOUR.

Four?

SQUISH

The end.

I have Pop Culture Trivial Pursuit DVD! We must play it! I can bring it to SLC and we can play the DVD on Craig's laptop in the RV!

I miss my quoting Buddy too :( It's not fun when no one else knows what I mean.

It was the park I go to all the time! There were a bunch of other ppl there walking their dogs and stuff, so no worries. And he was very nice. Besides, you're one to talk; I seem to remember stories about sledding down the stairs at Angoo's...dressing up in his mom's clothes and going to Morrisons. Speaking of which, I miss that place. We must go when I am up this summer! Grilled cheese and vanilla shakes! Fries, BLT, jello, cappuccino, pie! Am I leaving anything out? ;)

The other day Craig forwarded me what I thought was the tackiest, most tasteless invitation I had ever seen. So it goes:
One of his co-workers is pregnant and some of her friends at the office are having a baby shower/breakfast for her at the office today. (So far so good). They e-mailed everyone invites which contained the following (and I quote): "Please bring a gift (she is having a girl) or 10.00 to be placed in a card." (End of quote).

?!??!

Please bring a gift or $10.00? How tacky. I guess when Craig and I sent out our wedding invites we should have written on them, "Remember to give us a gift or minimum $100 cash". JEEZ! You just don't do that. It is a surprise for the girl who is having the baby so I feel kind of bad for her. I would be mortified if people had a shower for me and put that on the invites. When I got married, my sister, who was 16, organized my bridal shower with ten times more class and tact than that. And people give teenagers a hard time and say they are rude. Ugh.

End of Rant.

Ed brought it to my attention yesterday that I am the vice-chair of the Progressive Caucus. I had no idea. Hehehe, oops! And since the chair, Fritzi, is out of town for our next meeting I will be in charge and my first order of business will be to change our titles to something much more fun than 'chair' and 'vice-chair'.

Also, on a fun(ny) note, while I was out walking Po early yesterday morning, a guy in the park started chatting with me about Po. After a minute he opens up his closed fist to reveal a joint and says, "I don't suppose you partake in this type of thing, do you?". I told him my mommy told me never to take drugs from strangers.
Heh.

Tuesday, April 06, 2004

Ok, it wasn't that bad. Close. I didn't stay until the end. I don't even know when it ended. But I was starving and it wasn't getting anymore interesting so I left. The best thing I took away from it was, "Dear God, please show me your hand through this whole disgusting thing."
Ha ha ha ha. Sorry, you had to be there ;)

Tonight is Star Night. I don't want to go, but I am anyways. Mostly I was going to go to set a good example for Jessica and Kristi, but Kristi can't make it. Oh well, I'll go for Dana, I know she likes it when she has lots of people there. And since Kass and I are usually the only ones from our unit who show up at anything, it means 50% of this rests on me! Or 33.33333% I should say since I think Jessica is going.
If my hands aren't too sore from all the applauding, or too raw *sniffle* from wiping away the *sniff* tears caused by the heartfelt stories *SOB* I'll update later.
That was gross. I just ate what was possibly the nastiest cheeseburger ever. It came from BK. I am starving and after much delay in getting home with groceries Craig stopped on the way at BK to get me a quick cheeseburger. When he gets home and gives it to me I think that it smells sort of weird but figure it's just my imagination. Then I notice two huge green slimy jalapeƱo peppers sticking out. Ugh. I pulled those out and took a bite and realized it was a double cheeseburger. Double Ugh. So I pull out one of the patties and give it to Po and tried to eat it but the bun was all dry and hard and it had no condiments on it. I ate about half before I couldn't go any further. Now I am burping nasty-chile stuff. GROSS!! I HATE BURGER KING!!! *vomits*

Sunday, April 04, 2004

We are back from Phoenix. It rained. I liked it. Car rides make me sooooo sleepy; I am not a good co-driver. If I am napping while Craig is driving and we stop at a red light I actually sort of wake up and think, 'Bugger, why aren't we moving?', and then when we start moving again I think, 'Ahh, that's much better', and fall back asleep. I'm odd.

We got to see Ryan, Brooke and Scott. We all went Go-Karting, well except for Brooke she didn't race with us but I wish she had! I got Olive Garden too. Their breadsticks have changed...They aren't as good as I remember them :P

We also found out that Po likes nuts. He knocked over a basket of shelled nuts at Dan and Starla's and went to town. He cracks the shells with his teeth, spits it all back out on the floor and eats the nut, leaving a mess of shells all over the house. Apparently he started doing this one night after everyone had gone to bed and Starla had a nice mess to clean up in the morning. Heh. Po is also very discriminating; he prefers almonds. There were Brazil nuts, macadamias, walnuts and almonds, and he sticks to the almonds. What a silly doggy :)

We just got back from the fair. It was fun :) I got a little yucky after the tilt-a-whirl but I'm better now :) I like the fair except for those morons at the Yuma Right to Life booth and the Bush-Cheney 2004 booth. Sometimes I wonder if they even pay attention to what is going on. Really. I mean they must live under a rock for the other 51 weeks of the year and then crawl out to man the booth at the fair. What else could explain their stupidity?

Tomorrow is Phoenix. It's going to be a long day. Craig has a meeting all afternoon and Ryan has some happy hour thing with his co-workers so we won't get to see him til late. I'll prolly spend the afternoon at the mall near Craig's meeting.
Po is at Craig's parents'. We were going to have to drop him off really early tomorrow anyway so we just took him over tonight.

I am also working on two tie-dye t-shirts for Craig. He liked the ones that I made for my dad so much that he wanted me to make some for him. So I am :)
